    These, and 100’s of other Bearings, that I possess have been in storage within a climate controlled garage for many years. I have opened many of these stored bearings and have found all of them to be in excellent condition. Overall these
    specific vintage boxes
    are in below average condition for their age. I gently opened (1) of the boxes for these photos. If you follow the sequence of photos you can see the box being opened for the 1

    time. I peeled back the wax paper wrapping so you can see the condition of the Bearings. Overall, the Bearings look to be in
    Excellent Condition
    and 100% serviceable. The factory lubricant has dried up slightly, but came off when I rubbed it lightly with my thumb. It may be necessary to repack this bearing with fresh grease. This bearing assembly was discontinued by
    GM
    back in the1970’s.
    For those who do not know. One of General Motors Divisions (
    GM
    ) was the
    New Departure / Hyatt Bearing Division
    . In other words
    GM
    owned and operated the
    New Departure Bearing Division.
    That is why some
    New Departure Bearing
    boxes may also read
    General Motors.
    I also have some boxes of
    New Departure Bearings
    with
    GM
    /
    Delco
    or
    Hyatt
    labeling, however they are all the same bearings made by the same
    GM
    Company.
    Always check your manuals to
    confirm
    the #
    5203 bearing
    is
    correct
